Govt. order barring primitive tribal groups from availing family planning facilities quashed by Court

A 1979 government order and its subsequent amendment of 2017 which barred persons from primitive tribal groups (officially labelled as Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups- PVTG – which includes groups such as Baiga, Pahadi Korwa etc.) from availing family planning facilities which involve procedures like Tubectomy or vasectomy etc. was quashed the government order holding it to be violative of Article 21 of the Constitution of India.
