3 men, denied bail by the Sessions Court, granted bail by J&K High Court

The applicants Abdul Ahad Waza (41 years old), Riyaz Ahmad Hurra (40 years old) and Ghulam-Ud-din War (43 years old) were granted bail by the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir from a bench composed of Hon’ble Mr.Justice Tashi Rabstan. The petitioner was Mr. Faisal Shah on behalf of the three accused. Bail was granted on furnishing bail bonds of Rs.50,000/- each. The FIR was filed at Sumbal, Baddipora. All three of them were charged for rioting, unlawful assembly and endangering life while allegedly participating in stone pelting during a civilian protest. They were in a bad health condition, and advised by doctors to undergo medical treatment after being in custody for more than fifteen days. This bail grant comes after the Court of Sessions Bandipora rejected their bail application.
