Navitha 37 years old is a married woman who is married to Rajesh of calicut, Kerala. At the time of their marriage her family had given her 37 sovereign of gold ornaments. One year after the marriage she found that her husband had illegal relationship with his elder brother’s wife. She questioned it. And since then he began to harass and torture her. Unable to suffer domestic violence she came back to her parent’s house. She approached the HRLN Wayanad unit on for legal advice. She was made aware of her rights and remedies under Domestic Violence Act and a legal notice was sent to Mr.Rajesh. In response to the notice the respondent agreed to make an agreement regarding return of gold and for mutual divorce. Due to the intervention of HRLN the respondent returned back 33 sovereign of gold ornaments on March 20, 2016. And a divorce petition was filed in the family court, Kalpetta, Wayanad
