High Court of Guwahati passes positive order in a case of negligence by a medical professional in Nagaland
A detailed order was passed by the HC in one of the petitions filed for denial of medical services to a PLHIV after getting to know the status of her being HIV+ which was in violation of the Act and against the Ethics of Medical profession. SLIC had filed a complaint to the Nagaland Medical Council also which set up an inquiry and found lapses on the part of the doctor. The Hon’ble HC has observed and awarded a compensation of ? 40,000/- to the petitioner within one month and half of the amount will get deducted from the salary of the doctor.
