Manipur HC asks state to ensure free entitlements for pregnant women, newborns

The government of Manipur put a cap on the entitlement from Janani-Sishu Suraksha Karyakram (JJSK) scheme in Manipur. They limited the expenses to Rs 350 for drugs and consumables for normal deliveries, Rs 200 for diagnostics, Rs 250 for blood transfusions, Rs 100 per day for food and Rs 1,000 for referral transport of mother and sick new-borns. The court disposed of the case and directed the respondents to ensure free entitlements to pregnant women and newborns as originally directed the under JJSK scheme.
