Notice issued for the cancellation of bail of key accused in the trafficking of minor girls in Dhule district of Maharashtra

(Raosaheb Keroji Mungse Versus State of Maharashtra & Another) The Hon'ble Bench of Supreme Court comprising Justice Gyan Sudha Mishra and Justice Madan B. Lokur issued notices against the State of Maharashtra and the Key accused namely Ashok Bafna (businessman) and Vijay Tatia (journalist) for cancellation of their bail, which was granted to them by the Bombay High Court Bench at Aurangabad in Criminal Application No. 1677 of 2013 and 1852 of 2013 respectively. The matter deals with the trafficking racket, where minor girls are pushed into prostitution. The investigation by the state police revealed the involvement of high profile persons which includes Business persons, Journalists, Hoteliers and person from other fields in the district Dhule of Maharashtra. Arguing the matter before the Hon'ble Vacation Bench of the Supreme Court of India Advocate for the petitioner Tariq Adeeb highlighted the involvement of the accused persons in the heinous crime, where minor girls on the pretext of job and good earning are trafficked and pushed into the prostitution. He also highlighted that the investigation is still on and where 8-10 accused are yet to be arrested and 2 minor girls who were identified by the victim/complainant are yet to be rescued and whose missing complaint is lodge in various Police Stations and also questioned, "How can High Court release the main accusedin these circumstances?". The Hon'ble bench took notice of the crucial issue dealing with the trade of girls and issued notices against the State and the accused persons.
