Patna HC directs Integrated Child Development Scheme Director to probe non-implementation of scheme in village

Civil Writ Jurisdiction Case No.15748 of 2017 Dhauli Devi vs The State of Bihar through its Chief Secretary & Ors In this case, the petitioner, Dhauli Devi had approached the Patna High Court with the complaint that children from Jamalpur Village in Hajipur district of the state were not being given benefits under the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS). However, the petitioner pointed out, several villagers had represented to the District Magistrate claiming to be beneficiaries of the scheme. In response, the court directed the Director (ICDS), Patna, to look into the complaint and issue necessary directions to the implementing agencies in the district level to ensure that the children and beneficiaries in the village in question receive the benefit. The court said that the Director was to ensure the implementation of the scheme in the village within of two months and submit a report to the court.
