This petition was concerned with renewal as also the appointment of District Government Counsel (Civil and Criminal) in the subordinate court across the State of Uttar Pradesh. It was held by the Supreme Court that in the interest of dispensation of criminal justice that competent counsel possessing integrity should alone be appointed, since otherwise, there is a strong possibility of miscarriage of justice.
