Maharashtra Anne, a graduate from Government Law College, Mumbai, is a lawyer with the Mumbai unit of SLIC. Anne has to her credit several acquittals for juveniles falsely implicated in various cases. In particular she worked on the case of State of Maharashtra vs. Gary Vaz, despite a lot of lapses in the case and the matter coming before the Juvenile Justice Board after a delay of 9 years, the trial concluded in 4 months with the juvenile in conflict with law being acquitted of all charges. She has filed successful applications for compensation under schemes for survivors of acid attacks.
