Vishal completed his B.A. LL.B (Hons) from School of Law and Governance, Central University of South Bihar, Gaya, Bihar in 2019. He has been associated with Socio-Legal Information Centre at various levels since 2015. In 2017, when he was awarded the YES Foundation Fellowship, he continued to be associated with the Bihar unit of SLIC. He worked in his capacity as a student Legal Aid Coordinator of his University, where he worked with prisons by organizing a prison visit in the Gaya Central Jail with the help of SLIC and TISS. He has handled a number of cases on Health Rights, Labour Rights, Atrocities on Dalits and Minorities, Cases of Sexual Offences against Children and Refugee Rights. He has a keen interest to work on cases related to prisoners’ rights – in particular rights of under trial prisoners.
