SLIC's on ground response to the starvation due to the lockdown

When the lockdown was announced there were a number of reports that were pouring in where people in bastis were unable to access food. There was no way they could access petty employment to earn money either. Thus they were left in an abject condition by the state where they were unable to sustain themselves.

The ration shops by the Delhi Government were nowhere near the area and if they attempted to gwalk till the ration shops they were beaten up. In this situation Socio-Legal Information Centre, Working People's Charter and Meer Foundation went on ground to various bastis to provide relief in terms of access to ration and cooked food for a number of families living in various bastis in different parts of Delhi
