Appeal from Sabyasachi Chatterjee, Advocate, Calcutta High Court. Tapan Datta, a well know environmental activist and a political personality from West Bengal, was killed on May 6, 2011. All the accused in the case were acquitted by the court. However, after a lot of struggle since 2012, a division bench of Calcutta High Court has recently ordered a retrial and initiated a CBI inquiry. The accused parties are approaching the Supreme Court repeatedly to frustrate the hearing before the High Court. Advocate Sabyasachi Chatterjee appeals to the pubic & the media in West Bengal to lend support and ensure justice prevails in the case.
